As one of the oldest buildings in the HISD inventory, the original Rufus Cage Elementary School is a landmark building for Houston. The building is both architecturally and historically significant to Houston’s East End community and its surrounding neighborhoods.
The site (1.0215 acres) is located at 1409 and 1417 Telephone Road and consist of a 2.5 story masonry wall building (ca. 1910) with plastered exterior walls and composite roof.
